Pau Lopez arrived on loan this season from Olympique de Marseille. Born in Girona but raised in Sant Esteve de Llémana, he has played 358 official matches, including 100 LaLiga games, 95 in Ligue 1, 53 in Serie A and those played in the Champions and European League.
The new goalkeeper of Girona started playing football in the lower categories of Girona FC until he left for RCD Espanyol at the age of 12. He made his professional debut with the Barcelona club in 2014, establishing himself as the starting goalkeeper in the 2015-2016 season. He went through Tottenham, Betis and Roma, before being transferred to Olympique de Marseille, where he comes from. His achievements include the runner-up in the Europa League with Roma and the runner-up in the FA Cup with Tottenham Hotspur.
He has been international with Spain in different categories. With the Under-21 team, he played in the 2017 European Championship. Luis Enrique gave him his senior debut in 2018.
